CENTENNIAL CAMPGROUND
New Denver British Columbia - Canada
Our campground offers serviced and unserviced sites with full washroom and shower facilities.
The campsite fees this year (2003) are: $15.00 per night (regular sites), $17.00 per night (lake front sites), $19.00 per night (serviced sites).
There is a large playground for the kids and a covered barbeque pit. Equipment for bocci, badminton and volley-ball is available for your use from the Campsite Attendant. This is free, providing it is returned in good order. The lake is a stone's throw away with a raft and a roped-off swimming area for your safety. Remember there is no lifeguard on duty. Pets are welcome. All dogs must be on a leash when taking their pooper scooper's for a walk.
Campers with boats can launch at our public ramp in the park or moor their boat in the marina next to the campground. There is no fee for launching and retrieval. Moorage rates are $5.00 per day or $25.00 per week. See campsite attendant for availability.
We look forward to having you come and stay with us for a while and take the time to enjoy our Village.
Tourist Attractions
While you're here, we invite you to stroll our main street - historic Sixth Avenue, and
visit the Silvery Slocan Museum.
The Nikkei Internment Memorial Centre is located only one block from the campground. Exhibits and original internment shacks, surrounded by a beautiful Japanese garden, commemorate the internment of Japanese-Canadians during World War II.
At the south end of the campground, you will find the Kohan Reflection Garden. Check out their web sites.
Other attractions include Idaho Peak, the village of Sandon, and Kokanee Glacier Park to the east, Slocan Lake and the Valhalla Provincial Park to the west, the village of Silverton to the south and the Slocan Lake Golf Course to the north. There are three ski resorts within a short driving distance:
Valhalla Mountain Touring, Retallack Resort and Summit Lake Ski Resort. This resort has a very small hill with two t-bars and a restaurant, open only in the winter season. It is excellent for very small children and beginners. There is NO sleeping accommodation.
