Slocan Valley Seniors’ Housing

February 26, 2015  |  News, Press Release, Public Notices

An invitation to fill out the survey and come to a public meeting.

The Slocan Valley Seniors’ Housing Society (SVSHS) is a non-profit, charitable society established in 1995 to address seniors’ housing and support needs in the Slocan Valley.

We are conducting a study from Summit Lake to the Hwy 3 Junction to determine the extent of the need and demand for seniors’ housing in the Valley. (50 years +) We want a better understanding of seniors’ housing needs, and what housing and services seniors would like to see in the Valley. We are planning a development of affordable seniors’ rental housing in Slocan and need to know if there is both a need and demand for such a project.

We have inserted a yellow paper survey in the Feb. 25th issue of the Valley Voice. It is important that you fill this out and get it back to us! In New Denver you can pick up or drop off a survey at:

– Mountainberry Foods

– New Market Foods.

Please forward or distribute the survey to any friends or neighbours you think might be interested. (For example, maybe your relatives have moved away and would like to return to the Valley). The survey takes about 5 to 10 minutes to fill out. Please answer all questions. All completed surveys are confidential. Overall results will be reported back to the community.

PUBLIC MEETING: You are invited to bring your questions and comments about seniors’ housing needs, the survey and the draft housing project designs that will be present at a public meeting in New Denver on Saturday, March 7th at 2 pm at Knox Hall.

Your participation is important. Please bring your family and friends.
