New RDCK REEP SaveNow Program

On Monday, July 13, the Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK) launched a new version of its Regional Energy Efficiency Program (REEP) – Home Renovation Program called ‘REEP – SaveNow.’ This program offers RDCK residents (both homeowners and renters) access to free energy savings products. Customers can choose any or all of the products available, from a fridge thermometer and retractable clothesline, to weatherstripping, to a free programmable or smart home thermostat.

This program was created to replace the previous REEP – Home Renovation Program offered by the Regional District. Due to limitations as a result of Covid-19, home energy evaluations are not possible at this time, meaning the previous program had to be put on hold. Still part of RDCK’s commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, this new REEP – SaveNow approach is a different way to help homeowners and renters make their homes more energy efficient. “By offering residents access to energy savings products, we are creating an opportunity for renters and homeowners to save money now, while we wait for energy evaluations to start up again,” says RDCK Senior Energy Specialist Paul Faulkner.

Funding is provided by the RDCK, Fortis BC and Nelson Hydro. The RDCK REEP – SaveNow program is open to all Regional District of Central Kootenay residents.

There is a limited amount of supplies, so order now while supplies last. Visit the Regional District’s website HERE for their media release about the program.
