The Village of New Denver would like to introduce Jordan Deakoff as our Community Safety Officer. This is a pilot project position focused on proactive community information and engagement in regard to bylaw compliance. The CSO will respond to public inquiries, investigate complaints, and assist with bylaw/policy review and amendments. Statistics will be recorded to determine pilot project success.

As of May 1, 2023, Lisa Scott our Chief Administrative Officer/Corporate Officer will begin working remotely. This means that she will not be physically present in the office for most regular business days or Council meetings, but is still available virtually, by email, or phone. The CAO will still have full access to all Village information and files with security measures in place to protect confidentiality. This remote work arrangement will be reviewed regularly to determine feasibility.

The Nikkei Internment Memorial Centre is happy to announce their new Director Lane McGarrity, who will lead the site into it’s 29th season. The NIMC opened on Monday, May 1, with daily operation from 10-5.
