Work will begin Friday, November 18 to prepare the site SE of the intersection of Columbia Street and Slocan Avenue in the Village right-of-way for drilling the new community water source wells. This will entail creating temporary ramp access for large equipment, removal of some trees, and site levelling. 

The site should be ready by the end of next week and the well drilling rigs will be moving in and commencing work on approximately November 28. The well drilling will create noise.  Drilling will take place between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on weekdays and from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekends.  No drilling will take place on statutory holidays. It will take approximately three weeks to complete the well drilling. This is a necessary inconvenience to ensure continued safe and adequate water supply to the Village.

The public is reminded to stay clear of all operations and direct their questions to the Village office. Trails may be closed while crews work in and around these public spaces – do not use trails marked as closed or cross any barriers.
