New Denver is home to a community gym operated by the RDCK.
The gym facility is open daily from 5:30am -10:00pm. Memberships can be purchased from the Village Office Monday through Thursday 11:00am – 3:00pm. The membership is $50 + gst for an individual and $100 + gst for a family within the same household. The annual membership is not prorated, please know that a membership purchased in November will be the same cost as if it were purchased in January.

Recreation Commission No. 6
Rec Commission 6 is a commission of the Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK). For online information about the commission, including meeting schedule, visit https://www.rdck.ca/government-service/government/commissions/#rec6.
As per RDCK Recreation Commission 6 Establishment Bylaw No. 2791, the purpose of the Commission is to:
- Enhance the quality of life of participants in the Service Area by providing grant funds to recreation and service providers in Villages of New Denver and Silverton, and a portion of Electoral Area H;
- Consider and make recommendations to the Board on improvements and program delivery taking place at the recreational facility within the Service Area;
- Consider and make recommendations to the Board on the acquisition and development of recreational facilities and program delivery in the Service Area;
- Review the financial performance of the service relative to the annual budget approved by the Board;
- Consider and make recommendations to the Board on the budget for review; and
- To act as two-way conduit of information and communications between the Regional District staff and the Board, and the communities within the Service Area, on Regional District matters affecting the community.
