Nominations are now open for the 2027 BC Rural Health Awards, and we are reaching out to communities across rural BC to help us recognize the people and communities across rural BC to help us recognize the people and communities making a difference in rural health.
You know your community best. There are likely people doing important work every day to support health and well-being of your community, often without a lot of recognition. We would love your help in making sure their contributions are seen.
There are three award categories:
- Rural BC Community Award
Recognizes a rural BC community for the work being done to support local healthcare service delivery and improve health and well-being in the community. - Award of Excellence in Rural Medicine: Lifetime Achievement
Recognizes a rural physician who has made an extraordinary contribution to rural medicine through their work and service over the course of their career. - Resident Leadership Award
Recognizes a resident who has demonstrated a sustained interest in rural and remote medicine in BC and made an impact through their involvement and leadership.
We encourage you to share this opportunity with your teams, community leaders and local networks. You may know a physician who has dedicated their career to your community, a resident who is already making a difference, or a community that has come together to strengthen local healthcare.
Nominations are open until October 23, 2026.
