Human-Wildlife Conflict

The Village of New Denver was designated an official BearSmart Community in 2015.  More information regarding human-wildlife conflict can be found on the Wildsafe BC official website. 

To prevent human injury and to keep wildlife wild and healthy, the Village of New Denver requests that visitors to Centennial Park and Campground observe the regulations stated below:

To help keep wildlife wild and the community safe, the Village of New Denver requests that visitors to Centennial Park and Campground observe the following regulations:

  • Ensure that all pets are leashed, except in designated off-leash areas
  • Place all garbage in the bear-resistant bins located throughout the park
  • When cleaning fish, please ensure remains are placed in the bear-resistant bins
  • Keep your campsite clean and odour-free
  • Store the following items in your vehicle or camper:
    Food, Coolers, Stoves and grills, Pots and pans, Dishes & utensils, Wash basins, Pet food and dishes, Toiletries

Visitors traveling without a vehicle can make arrangements for safe food storage with the Campground Host.
